Richard Nixon Parkway Now Open to Traffic

Yorba Linda commuters can now say they’re taking a drive on the Nixon.
The Richard Nixon Parkway opened last week in the late president’s hometown. The renovated stretch of Imperial Highway, between Orangethorpe Avenue and Yorba Linda Boulevard, had been a two-lane California freeway.
But officials petitioned the state last year to turn control of the road over to the city, which used $28.7 million in Measure M funds from the Orange County Transportation Authority to widen the road to three lanes and improve bus turnouts, traffic signals and landscaping.
