A Tulare County sheriff’s deputy will not face charges stemming from a woman’s accusation that he raped her, authorities said Monday.
The 17-year veteran of the department, who had been on administrative leave with pay since the accusation in mid-June, has since resigned. Authorities have not released the deputy’s name.
The district attorney’s office decided it did not have enough evidence to charge the man, said sheriff’s Capt. David Williams.
