Trade Bloc Urges End to Sanctions on Zimbabwe

A 14-nation southern Africa trade bloc urged Western governments to lift sanctions on Zimbabwe.
The ministers were preparing for a summit of the Southern African Development Community that will start Monday.
The European Union and Australia imposed the sanctions after the controversial 2002 reelection of President Robert Mugabe. Earlier this year, a planned summit of EU and African bloc leaders was scrapped over the issue.
