In praise of pottery for culture’s sake

I really appreciate Vin Scully’s “Now Playing in Left Field,” (Aug. 21).
During this time of war, terrorism, economic problems, incurable diseases and e-mail viruses, it’s so important to appreciate and acknowledge the beauty that’s all around us.
Thanks to Vinny for reminding us that it’s so special to attend games with family and friends at Dodger Stadium.

When our children gave us left-field tickets to a recent Dodger game, we did not know that we would be gifted with an absolutely magnificent view of the setting sun.
