Police have arrested four people on suspicion of stealing two copies of the eagerly awaited new “Harry Potter” novel that were found dumped in a field in eastern England.
Suffolk police said Thursday they arrested three teenagers and a 44-year-old man late Wednesday night. The four are suspected of stealing first-edition copies of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” from the book’s printer, Clays Ltd., police said. The book is to be released June 21.
A spokeswoman from Bloomsbury Publishing confirmed that the books had been returned.
