His goal is to see America first

Regarding “Is This the Year to Cross the Pond?” (April 20): When I was working in Virginia I had a co-worker who went to Europe every year. Though he had lived in the area for more than a decade, he had never been to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. That is the reason I do not go to Europe.
Even though I have driven across North America at least a dozen times, I have not been able to see all of our country’s natural or man-made wonders. Even picking out the best leaves too many for a lifetime. Since my time and money are limited, I choose to devote my attention to travel at home. Although I do not discount the value of visiting the birthplaces of Western civilization, I do not put that value above visiting my native land.
