Woman, 21, Killed in Collision in Pomona

An Orange woman was killed in a traffic accident in Pomona early Sunday when a suspected drunk driver ran a red light and struck her car, police said.
Norma Avila, 21, was driving a Toyota Corolla when a Ford Explorer driven by Natalie Rankin, also 21, allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Garey Avenue, said Officer C. Jensen. Avila was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where she died Sunday afternoon.
Rankin was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and then booked on suspicion of felony drunk driving, Jensen said.
