U.S. Consular Official’s Daughter Is Slain

Assailants shot and killed the daughter of an American consular official in Bolivia during a carjacking attempt in the eastern city of Santa Cruz, officials said. Jessica Nicole Borda, 22, was slain after three men surrounded her car as she was driving home with two friends. One of the other women was wounded, Interior Minister Alfonso Ferrufino said.
Police said Borda’s mother, Rhea, was a consular official.
