Angry at Missouri

Re “Missouri Voters Ban Same-Sex Marriage,” Aug. 4: So my home state of Missouri has voted to amend the state constitution in order to ban gay marriage. Not a big surprise from the proud state that ushered Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft into politics -- but still very disappointing. The only thing that the Show Me State has shown is that Missouri voters value traditional marriage more than our constitution. I am outraged by the actions taken to prevent certain people the same rights as the rest of us, and I am so glad that I don’t live in Missouri anymore.
