A much-watched Brokaw send-off

An estimated 15.4 million viewers tuned in to watch Tom Brokaw’s farewell to “NBC Nightly News” on Wednesday night, far above the average 11.3 million viewers it drew each night last week, Nielsen Media Research reported Thursday.
It was “Nightly News’ ” most-watched telecast since January 16, 1997. By comparison, Wednesday’s “World News Tonight” on ABC drew 9.2 million viewers and the “CBS Evening News” had 7.3 million.
