Newport Beach Police Shoot, Kill Man Who Pulled Gun in Bank

A man was shot and killed by Newport Beach police Tuesday after authorities said he became belligerent and brandished a gun in a bank.
Police did not release the name of the man. He was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana where he died,, a police spokesman said.
The incident began about 4:15 p.m. when police were called by employees to Washington Mutual Bank in the 550 block of Newport Center Drive.
When officers arrived, they tried to talk to the man, who pulled a handgun and was shot by two officers, police said.
