A Yorba Linda man who molested three girls, including a relative, over nearly a decade was sentenced Friday to 238 years in prison.
Sharif Azmi Eltawil, 41, was convicted in April of molesting his 7-year-old relative in 1994, a 3-year-old neighbor in 2001 and a family friend’s 9-year-old daughter in 2003.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Beauford Phelps sentenced Eltawil to two years less than the maximum during the proceeding in Santa Ana. A Los Angeles judge sentenced Eltawil because he had been married to an Orange County Superior Court employee.
To molest the 9-year-old girl, Deputy Dist. Atty. Sheila Hanson told City News Service, Eltawil sometimes broke into her house in the middle of the night.
“He manipulated her and told her not to tell,” Hanson said. “Finally, the physical pain was too much ... one day, when he whispered into her ear that he was going to come over that night, she was so frightened that she told her parents.”
Eltawil, who repaired computers before his arrest, also was convicted of three counts of committing lewd acts on a child, aggravated sexual assault, residential burglary, possessing child pornography and cultivating marijuana.
Neither Hanson nor Deputy Public Defender Chuck Hasse could be reached Friday for further comment.
