Officials at the city’s Exploratorium science museum are considering building a permanent home.
“We are looking for a place that allows us to expand our space and has economic benefits,” Exploratorium spokeswoman Leslie Patterson said Tuesday. “We want to own.”
The 100,000-square-foot Exploratorium -- a mix of hands-on science displays and gadgets visited by half a million people each year -- has been paying rent to the city-owned Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District for 34 years.
