O.C. Transit Agency, Drivers Reach Tentative Agreement

Averting a transit strike, the Orange County Transportation Authority and its 1,200 bus drivers reached a tentative agreement Monday on a three-year contract.
After negotiating through the weekend, OCTA and Teamster representatives said they resolved their differences on cost-of-living raises.
They declined to discuss the terms of the contract until drivers are shown details of the agreement. A union vote is scheduled for next week.
Drivers have demanded a cost-of-living increase of up to 3.7% each year for the next three years. The union said OCTA was offering about 3%.
