Fan Works Overtime for a Better NFL Game

Watching the Indianapolis Colts defeat San Diego in sudden-death overtime as the result of a coin toss and a field goal was very unsatisfying. A more reasonable overtime would require a winning margin of six points for a sudden-death victory, or the team ahead after the full overtime period.

This arrangement would allow the kicking team a chance on offense, provided they keep the receiving team from a touchdown. Moreover, by putting three points on the board, a team could avoid a sudden-death defeat even should the opponent score one touchdown subsequently.
