Mayor to Oppose University Expansion

Mayor Tom Bates says he will oppose UC Berkeley expansion plans.
Campus officials have released their final version of a long-range development plan that would add more than 2 million square feet of buildings and at least 1,800 parking spaces to keep up with enrollment growth and develop new facilities.
City officials say the plan, released Monday, doesn’t address their concerns about traffic.
