Concerts postponed: Rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot’s shows today at Vault 350 and Saturday at the Malibu Inn have been postponed because of storm-related travel delays in Colorado. New dates are to be announced soon.
Special award: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a special Award of Commendation to Arthur Widmer on Feb. 12 at the Scientific and Technical Awards dinner. Widmer contributed to the development of the ultraviolet and “blue screen” compositing processes.
Inaugural singers: Opera divas Susan Graham and Denyce Graves are each slated to sing a “patriotic musical performance” at the Jan. 20 inauguration of George W. Bush.
Radio moves: New radio shows hosted by Laura Schlessinger and G. Gordon Liddy are to make their debuts next month on XM Satellite Radio.
