Young and playing solo
The 2005 edition of New West Symphony’s Discovery Artists -- the program that gives a select group of young performers the chance to take the stage as soloists with the orchestra -- will be featured in two weekend concerts. The soloists are: Sharon Park, 18, violin; Michele Lee, 17, piano; Llewellyn Kingman Sanchez Werner, 8, piano; Jeffrey Li, 15, cello; Edgar Ernesto Ramirez, 26, tenor; Daniel Lincoln, 20, baritone; Sean Chen, 16, piano. Conductor Boris Brott will lead his young charges in works by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Puccini, Prokofiev, Donizetti and more.
