Re “Was Iranian Leader a 1979 Hostage Taker?” July 1: Here’s hoping your paper reminds the American people that the Republicans (Ronald Reagan) made backdoor deals with the hostage-takers (arms for hostages).
President Bush’s “outrage” (at President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) needs to be placed in some perspective.
