Broadway bound: “The Color Purple,” a musical version of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, is coming to Broadway late this year.

The production, which played in Atlanta last year, features a book by Marsha Norman and a score by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray.
