The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday terminated a lease belonging to Amerigas at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.
Port officials had decided to use the Amerigas berth for other purposes. The council vote made it final.
Amerigas still owns a butane-storage facility near the port that neighborhood activists have long sought to close. The council also approved a motion sponsored by members Janice Hahn and Tony Cardenas that requires officials to work with the company to find a way to relocate those tanks.
