As if Hollywood didn’t have enough award shows already: Now even the government is getting into the act.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, handed out the Voice Awards on Wednesday night, honoring film, TV and radio programs that depict “positive, accurate and dignified portrayals of people with mental health problems.”
The winners were NBC’s “ER” and “Scrubs,” Showtime’s “Huff,” CNN’s “Larry King Live,” USA’s “Monk,” Lifetime’s “Strong Medicine” and the films “The Aviator,” “Stateside,” “People Say I’m Crazy” and “There’s No Such Thing as Crazy.”
