Pilot Killed in Plane Crash Near Parliament

An ultralight airplane crashed near the German Parliament and Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder’s office in Berlin, killing the pilot but harming no one on the ground, police said.
A city official said the crash was not an attempted attack.
The burned wreckage lay about 650 feet from Parliament and about 330 feet from Schroeder’s office. It was not immediately known whether Schroeder was in his office.
The identity of the pilot was not immediately available.
