Suspicious Package Sent to Indonesian Embassy

The Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, Australia, was closed after receiving a suspicious package found to contain powder identified as a “biological agent,” Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer told Parliament.
Downer gave no further details on the agent. He earlier had blamed the security scare on public anger over the conviction in Bali, Indonesia, last week of an Australian woman on drug-smuggling charges.
The embassy had received threats and requested more security ahead of the conviction of Schapelle Corby, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday for smuggling marijuana. She is appealing the conviction.
