Appeal in subway shooting falls short

The family of a Brazilian electrician lost a High Court bid to hold accountable the British officers who mistook him for a suicide bomber and killed him.
Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, was shot in the head seven times at Stockwell Underground station in the aftermath of last year’s fatal attacks on London’s transport system.
The Crown Prosecution Service decided in July that no officer should face charges; instead, London’s Metropolitan Police as a whole is to be prosecuted on health and safety charges.
