All French troops to be withdrawn

France is to withdraw all of its ground troops engaged in the U.S. anti-terrorism operation in Afghanistan, authorities announced.
The decision to pull the 200 special-forces troops, based in the eastern city of Jalalabad, comes as the Taliban militia is gaining strength despite the presence of 32,000 North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops.
On Saturday, U.S. Sen. John McCain said Afghan, U.S., Canadian, British and Dutch forces had done most of the fighting in Afghanistan during the last year.
