Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Girl

A Westminster High School teacher was charged Tuesday with having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Jeremy Grigg Daggett, 26, a history and economics teacher, is alleged to have begun flirting with the teen -- then a Westminster High student -- while chaperoning her and others during a school-sponsored trip to Europe last summer. She was never his student.
Upon their return to California, authorities said, the teacher continued seeing the girl, eventually having sex with her at his Huntington Beach home.
Daggett is scheduled to be arraigned today. If convicted, authorities said, he could face nearly four years in prison.
