Tropical Storm John Peters Out Over Baja

The remnants of Hurricane John soaked fishing villages and retirement communities in the Baja California peninsula, and threatened flooding in parts of the U.S. Southwest.
The storm, which was downgraded to a tropical depression, was expected to dump as much as 20 inches in Baja state and up to 3 inches of rain in desert areas from Southern California to west Texas in the next few days, forecasters said.
