Fox News hires Alexis Glick

Fox News announced Tuesday that it has hired former “Today” correspondent Alexis Glick to be the cable network’s director of business news, a position that could ultimately lead to an on-air role if executives launch a new cable business channel.
“While we are not announcing the launch of such a channel, hiring Alexis enables us to be prepared if plans move forward,” Fox News Chairman and Chief Executive Roger Ailes said in a statement.
Glick, who was once considered a possible successor to Katie Couric on NBC’s morning show, will report to Neil Cavuto, managing editor of business news and host of “Your World.” Before joining “Today,” she was a senior trading correspondent for CNBC and an executive director at Morgan Stanley.
