Qualcomm Appoints Sherry Lansing to Board

Qualcomm Inc. named film industry veteran Sherry Lansing to its board as the company moves to launch a television service for cellphones.

Lansing joins the board as the San Diego-based cellphone chip maker is spending $800 million to start the TV service, called MediaFLO. Verizon Wireless plans to introduce the service next year.
