MySpace plans concert series

MySpace, News Corp.’s social-networking website, plans to produce more than 30 concerts across the U.S. to promote artists who became popular online.
The MySpace Music Tour, starting in October in Seattle, will feature acts such as Hellogoodbye, a pop group, and Say Anything, an alternative-rock band, MySpace said.
The concerts may add another source of revenue to MySpace, which New York-based News Corp. is using to sell online advertisements aimed at young consumers. Bands such as Hellogoodbye increased their popularity by posting music and videos on MySpace’s pages and attracting fans online.
