Rozanski approved as temporary head of DWP

The city’s Board of Water and Power commissioners voted Tuesday to name Robert Rozanski as the temporary head of the agency while the department’s top executive recovers from an irregular heartbeat.
The vote was considered a formality because Rozanski, the department’s chief administrative officer, had begun filling in for DWP General Manager Ronald F. Deaton while he was in Costa Rica, where he fell ill.
Deaton, 64, was transported back to California last week. DWP officials said Deaton is recuperating in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
