Pepperdine loses to Pacific, 84-76

Steffan Johnson scored a career-high 32 points to lift Pacific (2-1) to an 84-76 victory over Pepperdine at the World Vision International tournament at Eugene, Ore.

Daniel Johnson had 19 points to lead Pepperdine (0-3).

“I’m encouraged because they’re starting to understand more of what we want them to do,” Pepperdine Coach Vance Walberg said.

Arkansas Little Rock 71, Loyola Marymount 40 -- Shane Edwards scored 14 points to lead Arkansas Little Rock (2-0). Tim Diederichs led the host Lions (0-2) with nine points. Loyola shot only 21.2% for the game.

Texas Arlington 79, UC Riverside 58 -- Jermaine Griffin’s 16 points and 14 rebounds led the Mavericks (1-0) at Arlington. Larry Cunningham had 22 points for the Highlanders (0-2).
