Stop that phase dead in its tracks

Re “Worms, Our Waste Warriors” [Nov. 15]: Is there an editor in the house? At least a copy editor, who should have caught, and cut, the illogical phrasing “DIY dead-enders”? Someone who does things himself would seemingly be a go-getter, not a dead-ender. Anyway, who’s using terms most prominently uttered by Donald Rumsfeld? Seen that way by whom? The writer?

Sloppy, infantile and unprofessional.
