Freston joins board of DreamWorks

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., maker of the “Shrek” films, named former Viacom Inc. Chief Executive Tom Freston to its board a month after billionaire Paul Allen departed.
Freston’s appointment brings the number of directors to 12, the Glendale company said. Freston was ousted by Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone in September 2006, less than a year after the entertainment company split from CBS Corp.
