Sony picks global distribution chief

Sony Pictures has consolidated its domestic and international movie distribution units under Rory Bruer.
Bruer, who takes the new title of president of worldwide distribution, continues to report to Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution Chairman Jeff Blake. Bruer, a 25-year Sony veteran, had been president of Sony Pictures Releasing since 2002.
As part of the consolidation, Mark Zucker has been named president of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Zucker has been president of international distribution since 2006.
