THEY’LL PARK IT HERE FOR THE WEEKEND

It’s not a spectacle on the order of Art Basel Miami Beach, but L.A. has its own confluence of art fairs, albeit in Santa Monica proper. The L.A. Art Show touches down at the Barker Hangar, with more than 125 mostly domestic exhibitors in what producer Kim Martindale calls “an encyclopedic show” that’s adding a new chapter with the first-time inclusion of the L.A. Fine Print Fair. Meanwhile, Art LA is setting up its easel at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium -- “a serious art fair in a scrappy venue,” as director Tim Fleming puts it. With 64 galleries -- about half from as far away as Tokyo, and half from as close as Chinatown’s Mary Goldman (showing David Rathman’s “I’m Holding On for That Teenage Feeling,” detail pictured) -- it includes a preview tonight benefiting Hammer Projects. L.A. Art Show, Fine Print Fair: noon-7 p.m. today, noon-8 p.m. Fri.-Sat., noon-6 p.m. Sun., $20. laartshow.com. Art LA: 6:30-10:30 tonight, $50-$200. Noon-8 p.m. Fri.-Sat., noon-6 p.m. Sun., $15. artfairsinc.com
