U.S. soldier killed near Baghdad

A U.S. soldier died from wounds sustained on Friday from “indirect fire,” a term usually used to describe rocket or mortar fire, south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Four other soldiers were wounded.
At least 3,993 U.S. personnel have been killed since the start of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to the independent website icasualties.org.
