Volcanic ash forces evacuation

A volcanic eruption in southern Chile triggered tremors and spewed ash two miles into the air, prompting evacuation of hundreds of people.
Ash fell over the town of Chaiten, about 700 miles south of Santiago and six miles from the volcano. Some schools were closed and hospitals treated people for eye irritation and breathing difficulties. Trucks were sent with clean water.
