at Philadelphia 6, San Francisco 5 (10 innings): Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer with two out in the bottom of the 10th. Aaron Rowand gave the Giants a one-run lead with a solo shot leading off the top of the inning. Burrell hit a 3-and-2 pitch into the left-field seats.
at Florida 6, San Diego 4: Dan Uggla hit two home runs and Mark Hendrickson pitched seven strong innings to improve to 5-1. Uggla’s second homer, a three-run shot off Justin Germano, was followed by a homer from Luis Gonzalez.
Pittsburgh 11, at Washington 4: The Pirates took a 6-0 lead in the second inning, ending John Lannan’s scoreless streak at a Nationals-record 21 innings.
at Houston 7, Milwaukee 4: Miguel Tejada, Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee hit consecutive home runs during a four-run sixth inning to lift the Astros. Hunter Pence had two home runs for Houston, one in the fifth inning and another in the eighth.
at St. Louis 5, Chicago 3 (11 innings): Skip Schumaker hit a two-run homer in the 11th. The Cubs’ outfield was playing in with a runner on third and one out when Schumaker, usually the Cardinals’ leadoff hitter, hit his second homer of the season.
New York 7, at Arizona 2: Jose Reyes was thrown out at the plate in the eighth inning while trying to complete the cycle with an inside-the-park homer. He had two triples and scored three times.
at Atlanta 2, Cincinnati 0: Tim Hudson pitched a three-hitter and the Braves ended a season-high four-game losing streak.
Dodgers 11, at Colorado 6: Rafael Furcal extended his streak of reaching base with a hit or walk to 29 games.
