Ford to lay off salaried workers

Ford Motor Co. plans to lay off salaried employees as part of a restructuring in the face of slumping sales and record-high gasoline prices.
A spokeswoman said Ford hadn’t determined how many white-collar jobs would be cut. There will be no buyout packages with financial or early-retirement incentives.
