at Oakland 5, Texas 4: Adam Kennedy hit two home runs, including a one-out tiebreaker in the ninth inning for the first run given up by reliever Frank Francisco (1-1), who had 17 2/3 scoreless innings in his first 17 appearances.
at Cleveland 5, New York 4: Jhonny Peralta drove in three runs, including the winning single with one out in the ninth inning. Mark Teixeira extended his season-high hitting streak to 13 games with a two-run home run, his 16th, and a two-run double.
Detroit 3, at Baltimore 0: Edwin Jackson (5-3) gave up two hits over eight innings, and Curtis Granderson hit a home run. Jackson faced only two batters over the minimum.
Chicago 7, at Kansas City 4: Chris Getz hit a tiebreaking two-run single against Juan Cruz in the ninth inning, and the White Sox capped their first three-game sweep in Kansas City since 2005.
Minnesota 3, at Tampa Bay 2: Brendan Harris hit a home run, and Nick Blackburn (5-2) gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings to help the Twins end a three-game skid.
at Angels 9, Seattle 8: Kendry Morales capped a three-run ninth inning with a bases-loaded single.
