Santa Barbara: Restaurant samples + 10% room discount = Hotel Oceana holiday package

The Hotel Oceana in Santa Barbara extends the holidays through January with a seasonal package that reduces room rates and adds vouchers for samplings at three local restaurants.
The deal: The Holiday Happiness Package discounts room rates by 10% and throws in free parking (worth $10 a night) and vouchers for free food: a dessert at Emilio’s Restaurant and Bar and one appetizer each at Arch Rock Fish and Pierre Lafond.
The rooms at this garden-style hotel were redone two years ago with a colorful twist. They all come with free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast and a free two-hour rental for a cruiser bicycle. You’ll find two outdoor heated pools as well.
When: Good through the end of January.
Tested: I checked on the hotel’s website and found the package widely available. The cheapest rates were Sundays through Thursdays, so I selected a room with two double beds for the discounted rate of $153 plus tax for Sunday, Jan. 9 -- perfect for a relaxing, post-holiday getaway.
