San Diego: Nothing scary about Hyatt Regency Mission Bay’s special Halloween rate

The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego is offering a room discount for Halloween weekend that makes for a good treat. What’s the trick? Hmm, I haven’t figured that out yet.
The deal: The Halloween Spooktacular special offers a $149 rate on Friday and Saturday and $74.50 on Sunday for a standard room; prices don’t include tax. Suites start at $199 on Friday and Saturday and $99.50 on Sunday. You must stay two nights to get the deal. The 430-room hotel recently received a face-lift at a cost of $65 million, which added a new pool area with three pools and slides and a spa.
When: Good for stays Oct. 29 through 31.
Tested: I checked online and found the $149 rate available on Friday and Saturday as well as the $74.50 rate on Sunday for a room with two queen-sized beds. The same room on these dates night regularly goes for $189 per night, plus tax, so you’re saving quite a bit.
