Highlights: Watch history come to life as two battles are reenacted each day. Before and after, tour the post’s facilities, which date to the 1880s.

California Duck Days
When, where: Feb. 25 and 26, Davis Arts Center and Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area headquarters
Highlights: This event begins with a gala reception and art show, followed by a day of duck-related field trips and workshops.
Cost: The Friday reception is free. Tickets begin at $20 for workshops and on-site activities; a field trip can be added for $3. All events are free for age 16 and younger.

Fisher Poets Gathering
When, where: Feb. 25-27, at venues throughout Astoria
Highlights: This event, in its 14th year, merges poetry with the West Coast fishing culture. More than 60 fishermen and women will give readings, talk shop and exhibit film, photography and paintings.
