Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger will publish a memoir with Ballantine this fall, the publisher announced Thursday.
The book will be a memoir of his childhood and formative experiences, ups and downs in the fashion industry, and, according to the release, the “sheer determination that drove him to build a multi-billion dollar global lifestyle brand.”
“Reflecting on my experiences in the fashion industry over the last 30-plus years has been a wild ride, filled with milestone moments that have defined both my career and my personal life,” Hilfiger said in a statement. “I always believe the best is yet to come, but so far, I’ve had the adventure of a lifetime.”
Hilfiger was born in Elmira, N.Y., in 1951. In the late 1970s he moved to New York and in the mid-’80s launched his line of preppy clothes with the signature red, white and blue label.
This fall marks the 30th anniversary of the Tommy Hilfiger brand, and his as-yet-to-be-titled memoir will be released to mark the occasion.
