Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger, who is known to frequent the South Bay’s beach volleyball circuit during the off-season, has purchased a townhome in Hermosa Beach for about $2.31 million.
Built in 2007, the residence features an open-space floor plan with an elevator, a center-island kitchen and a media room in more than 2,600 square feet. A living/dining room, a family room, four bedrooms and three bathrooms are among the other living areas.
A rooftop deck complete with a lounge area and fire pit tops the ocean-view contemporary.
The property originally came on the market in 2014 with an asking price of $2.499 million. Lee LeGrande of NWRE Brokers was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Budinger, 26, was a two-sport star (basketball and volleyball) at Carlsbad’s La Costa Canyon High School prior to attending the University of Arizona, where he earned Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors for basketball in 2007. He is averaging 4.6 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Timberwolves this season.
