Cronut inventor is now making Nutella pancake cones

Dominique Ansel, the man who created the croissant-doughnut hybrid the Cronut, has done it again. For International Pancake Day — also known as Shrove Tuesday, for those who are still on an ecclesiastical calendar, rather than a chain restaurant calendar — on Tuesday, the lauded New York pastry chef has created a Nutella pancake cone.
Yes, you heard that right. A pancake, and Nutella, in a cone.
Ansel teamed up with Ferrero, the company behind Nutella, to create his latest sweet concoction.
And according to Gothamist, and Ansel’s Twitter feed, Ansel will give away these magical cones at New York’s Grand Central Terminal Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Just in case you bought your beloved a ticket to N.Y.C. for Valentine’s Day.
Other cavity-inducing Ansel creations include the Waffogato, a vanilla ice cream waffle with Belgium waffle bits, a little salt and maple-syrup espresso poured on top; and chocolate chip cookie milk shots.
If you’d like to try your hand at making one of Ansel’s pancakes at home, People.com has the recipe. Just don’t forget to smother them with Nutella when they’re done. And why not make it homemade Nutella if you want to get really creative?
