Two people were rescued Tuesday night from their sinking boat off Santa Catalina Island. No injuries were reported, according to U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Adam Eggers.
The 26-foot commercial fishing boat was reported sinking about 9:30 p.m. on the eastern side of the island near Long Point. Baywatch personnel from Avalon and Cabrillo responded to the scene and pumped water from the stricken vessel. A Coast Guard vessel towed the boat to San Pedro.
