Many in Gaffney, S.C., were fearful that their beloved Peachoid water tower was being torn down. In fact, it is just getting a new paint job.

To paint the Peachoid, 16 colors are mixed from about 55 gallons of petroleum-based paint (at $400 a gallon) to produce just the right peachy-yellowish tones.
